The Oriana bed was designed in consultation with Midwives and Pediatric Nurses in a large NHS Trust in the North of England.
There is a significant requirement for this type of bed which can be used by patient’s relatives in any hospital department but is particularly relevant for Maternity Wards, Pediatric units and Hospices.
Likewise, multi-functional on-call staff rooms can benefit from the space saving features of these beds.
The unit has been fully tested by FIRA to BS EN 1725 (Contract Beds) and vertical fatigue test for loads up to 150kg (23.5 stones).
The foam mattress is hypo-allergenic, breathable and moisture resistant, and has been tested to Crib 5 FR version in accordance with NHS requirements.
The bed is fitted with four lockable castors and extends into its fixed vertical position in seconds by simply releasing the foot locks situated on either side of the frame. After use it can be folded back into an upright position and stored away in a corner protected by its own dust cover.
